Here are the prerequisites you need to build an Android TV application:

 Use SDK tools version 23.0.5 or higher

 Use the SDK with Android 5.0.1 (API 21)

 Use Android TV libraries which include: v17 leanback, v7 recyclerview

and v7 cardview
