Sintratec
: This Swiss startup competed with Norge in completing the “world's first
desktop SLS printer”. Sintratec launched its successful Indiegogo campaign on November
17 2014.
SLM Solutions
: This German Company manufactures and sell Selective Laser Melting
(SLM) metal printers but is also active in vacuum casting and metal casting. SLM Solutions
has around 80 employees. It was the German branch of MTT Technologies and was re-
named SLM Solutions in 2010, the UK branch was bought by Renishaw.
Solidoodle
: Solidoodle is one of the typical FDM low-cost 3D printers company. It was
started in 2011 in New York. Solidoodle's strategy in the market has been to make afford-
able printers. They claim to have launched the first printer on the market with a price under
500 USD fully assembled.
Sumpod
: Sumpod is a UK company which offers a few FDM desktop printers, including a
delta version.

Trumpf Sisma
: German Trumpf is engaged in sheet metal fabrication machinery and in-
dustrial lasers. Trumpf first entered the 3D printing market in 2000 with Trumaform. After
a couple of slow years they made a renewed effort in 2014 when they started a joint venture
with Italian laser manufacturer Sisma. Trumpf Sisma is more focused on the market for 3D
printing of metal direct part production.

: Dutch company Ultimaker launched their first printers in 2011 and is one of
the most well-known and successful producers of FDM low-cost consumer 3D printers.
Uniontech
: Shanghai Union Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 2000 and primarily of-
fers stereolithography printers for industrial use. Uniontech has a co-operation with materi-

: Wuhan Binhu Mechanical & Electrical Co., Ltd. is linked to Huazhong
University of Science and Technology (HUST). Wuhan binhu offers Selective Laser Sin-
tering (SLS), Stereolithography and Selective Laser Melting (SLM) printers.
