Personalized items
3D printing is extremely suitable for products that are unique and produced as single items
or in low volumes. This includes figurines and avatars. Services addressing personalization
of figurines have surfaced in the last few years. There are photo boots where you can get a
scan and a printed mini figurine of yourself, or you can order star trek figurines with your
face on them or get your personal avatar from a computer game 3D printed.
Promotion products are usually customized with a company logo or other preferred wishes.
3D printing opens up new opportunities in this field. Instead of 2D printing on mass pro-
duced plates, cups, pins etc. the whole product may be customized to the customers wish
