Where to Start
The success of a business and combined ventures revolves around the mar-
keting: you may have the best food tourism offer in the world, but if nobody
knows about it then it will never be successful.
The challenge is putting the marketing jigsaw together so that it works
for your venture.
The rules are simple: do not over-invest, have a marketing budget and
keep to that budget. Spread the budget over the season that works for your
venture, remember you have to invest ahead of the event. If, for example,
September is your main food tourism month then you will need to invest in
marketing in August to receive a return in September.
The simple ideas can often also be the most effective.
