Enterprise architecture
A unifying discipline using a set of design artifacts
and descriptive representations to describe an
entity or function such that it can be produced to
requirements and be maintained over its life cycle.
Enterprise Context
Framework (ECF)
A representation of the enterprise in terms of
people, process, and technology.
Enterprise dynamics
A representation of the enterprise activity through
the interrelation of actors (people), actions
(process), and entities (technology).
Enterprise efficacy
The power to produce a desired effect within the
organization.
Enterprise life cycle
management (ELCM)
An approach to guiding a product or service from
creation through discarding. ELCM is a phased
approach for idea conception, architecture,
engineering, development or acquisition,
implementation, testing, deployment, training,
operations and maintenance, and retirement.
Enterprise system
engineering (ESE)
A discipline to evaluate, plan, and ultimately produce
a system in context of the enterprise, including
overall fit of the system, dependencies,
expectations, relationships, and effect on other
systems.
Entity
A person or thing, or something that has existence;
entities may include person, process, application,
system, daemon, thread, device, etc.
Exogenous
Occurring outside the organization.
Framework
A conceptual structure that provides order.

A process of strategic decision making that provides
direction.
