iA Justiication
13.1 introduction
There is great need to convey IA justification in the appropriate terms to executives,
management, users, investors, etc. This chapter presents ideas for you to use as
justification for IA in conversations, papers, and presentations. Table 13.1 provides
a series of sample questions to consider when determining IA justification for the
current project and your organization in general.

The objective of this chapter is to prepare the IA architect to discuss IA justification
in business terms from many different perspectives.
By the end of this chapter, you will be able to articulate justification for IA to
many audiences. You may use the justification ideas in writing reports, developing
presentations, and developing elevator speeches (concise, impactful vignettes) to
convey the focus and benefits of IA.
