or support any enterprise architecture. Using IA 2 will provide better content than
using SPP alone.
10.4 DoDAF products oeriew
The Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products are a
series of documents under four families:

All view (AV)
Operational view (OV)
System view (SV)
Technical view (TV)
Table 10.1 elaborates on these views and presents an overview of IA integration
using IA 2 .

A list of eA Frameworks
Table 10.2 provides a list of major EA frameworks, references to further details, source
of the framework, and a brief description. IA 2 is applicable to any EA framework as the
IA 2 F and IA 2 P are designed as stand-alone tools, agnostic of any other standard or
framework, and modular to select those parts applicable to the business risk at hand.
10.5.1
Enterprise Architecture Organizations
Table 10.3 provides a list of major EA organizations and respective Web addresses.
10.6 Commentary
The commercial building architect anticipates the business uses of the office build-
ing; the residential architect anticipates the uses of the house: number of children,
number of bedrooms, size of play area, traffic patterns within the house, use of nat-
ural light, energy efficiency, etc. The enterprise architect discerns the business need
and performance requirements and then aligns technical services and mechanisms
to achieve them. The security architect anticipates risks, threats, and vulnerabilities
to mission integrity, and safeguards to minimize business risk with the right har-
mony of security (restrictions) and empowerment (employee freedom to act) and
budget. The enterprise architect may use an EA framework and model to produce
and execute on an enterprise architecture. The IA architect uses IA 2 to identify,
enumerate, articulate, and address business risk.
