Technical Reference Model
The TRM is a framework to capture standards and technologies that promote the
delivery of service components and capabilities. The purpose of the TRM is to
promote the reuse of technology and service components across the enterprise. The
TRM consists of four core service areas. Each service area consists of “multiple
Service Categories, Service Standards, and Service Specifications that provide the
foundation to group standards, specifications, and technologies that directly sup-
port the Service Area.”
TRM service areas include service access and delivery, service platform and
infrastructure, component framework, and service interface and integration. Ser-
vice categories by service area include:
n
Service access and delivery
Access channels (Web browser, wireless/PDA); delivery channels (Inter-
net, intranet)
