As the IA architect, you will apply IA 2 F and IA 2 P in an iterative process as
the FEA reference models go through their respective enterprise life cycles. Use the
perspectives of as-is, to-be, and transition to discern reference model objectives,
current state, and how to achieve the objectives starting from the current state.
Each phase intersection (Figure 10.1) is a unique perspective that influences other
phase cross sections in a large variety of permutations. At each visit to each cross
section, use the IA 2 P, IA 2 F, and other frameworks herein to identify, enumerate,
articulate, and address risks. But this is a lot of work! Yes, it is. This is expensive! Yes,
it can be. This will take a lot of time! Yes, it can. But that is the benefit of IA 2 . IA 2
provides a discipline with a variety of embedded checklists to be direct, compre-
