0.05 ml of cyanoacrylate monomer was placed by means of a syringe on each pig
skin test piece and the liquid monomer was spread over the bonding area by means
of the syringe needle. The two test pieces were immediately placed in contact and
pressed by means of two fingers for 30 s (Fig. 5.4a ). 60 s later, the single lap-shear
test was carried out in Instron 4411 universal testing machine (Instron Ltd.,
Buckinghamshire, UK) by using a pulling rate of 100 mm/min (Fig. 5.4b ). Five
replicates were measured and averaged with an error of ±0.2 kPa.
