Recently, functionalized CNTs ( f -CNTs) are also being intensively stud-
ied for treatment of dye bearing effluents. The f f-CNTs are hydrophilic in
nature, resulting in high adsorption uptake of cationic and anionic dyes
from aqueous solution due to the presence of oxygen-containing func-
tional surface groups. Moradi [80] prepared f- f-SWCNTs having covalent
attachments of carboxylic groups (SWCNT-COOH) and tested their
potential to adsorb Basic Red 46 from aqueous solutions. It was confirmed
that functionalization of SWCNT improved its dye-binding capacity. In
