creation of new adsorption sites. Since the Langmuir isotherm was the
best-fit model for this system, the homogeneity of the active sites on the
surface of the activated carbon with equal activation energy and the for-
mation of adsorbate monolayer coverage on the surface of the adsorbent
was postulated. These promising results encouraged Hameed et al. [100]
to conduct a comprehensive research on the optimization of the activated
