in all years except in 2010. During March, 2008 unseasonal rains caused
damage to the flowers, tender nuts and matured nuts in the trees and also
matured nuts fallen on the ground and finally resulted in deterioration of
nut quality. A drastic reduction in nut yield was observed in March, 2009.
It could be attributed to increase in mean monthly maximum temperature
of about 1.2-1.6 °C in Mach, 2009 as compared to previous years (2005-
2006 and 2006-2007). As a result, the actual nut yield was much lower
than the expected nut yield.
