Whenever declaring a
font-family
property, always make the final entry in the
list one of the CSS generic fonts:
serif
,
sans-serif
,
monotype
,
fantasy
, or
cursive
. The last two generic fonts are rarely used.
To reach the broadest market, fonts listed as
font-family
values should be commonly available on
PC, Mac, and, if possible, Linux operating systems. Table 7-1 lists some of the most frequently used
font families.
