DANJUGAN ISLAND

This 42-hectare island nature reserve has pristine coral reefs, six lagoons, a primary lime-
stone rainforest and mangroves. It's home to more than nine species of bat and 58 species
of bird, including the endangered white-breasted eagle and the grey-headed fishing eagle.
TWIN LAKES NATIONAL PARK
National Park
About 20km northwest of Dumaguete, the twin crater lakes of Balinsasayao and Danao of-
fer some of the most scenic hiking in the Visayas. The area is virgin forest and full of wild-
life, from monkeys to rare orchids, and a great spot for birdwatching; with a guide, it's pos-
sible to hike to Casaroro Falls.
TARSIER SANCTUARY

Home to this simultaneously crazy-and-cuddly looking little primate that has huge implor-
ing eyes (150 times bigger than a human's in relation to its body size), Philippine Tarsier
Sanctuary in Bohol features a captive breeding program, wildlife sanctuary and hiking trail.
CHOCOLATE HILLS
Landscape
This series of majestic grassy hillocks that span far into the horizon is one of Bohol's
premier attractions. Straddling three municipalities, the largest and most visited concentra-
tion is 5km south of Carmen at the Chocolate Hills Complex. They're best viewed during a
hazy dusk or dawn.
DANAO ADVENTURE PARK
Ziplining
Set among mountainous jungle with spectacular gorges and raging rivers, this giant play-
ground has a thrill-seeking zipline that soars across a 500m gorge, and the 'Plunge' with a
breathtaking 75m free fall into the valley. Otherwise get your adrenaline shot from rap-
pelling, caving, rock climbing, kayaking and tubing.
