Surfing
The Zambales coast offers friendly villages, offshore islands and fine surfing. The best
spots are the south side of Capones Island, Anawangin Cove and San Narciso. You'll find
steady waves and surf instruction in San Narciso, or try Anawangin Cove, accessible only
on foot or by boat. July to October are the peak months for surfing.
HUNDRED ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK
Kayaking
By far the best way to experience this small national park off the coast of Alaminos is in a
rented tandem kayak; you can bring it with you on the bangka (wooden boat) you'll take
into the park, or hire one on Quezon Island.

Surfing
Today Baler is best known as the location of the surfing scene in
Apocalypse Now
. It's
home to Sabang Beach, an endless strip of fine, dark sand extending north from Baler prop-
er to Charlie's Point, the river-mouth break that spawned the film's famous 'Charlie don't
surf' line.
