Numerous birds and other creatures live in this 250-acre refuge on the
South Branch of the Marsh River where it meets the Penobscot. Stream
heads south for two miles toward village of Prospect. Parking area on
Route 1A and boat launch. Hunting and fishing allowed.
Canoeing/Kayaking Outfitters
Overnight trips average $100-150 per person, per day. Half-day
guided trips run in the vicinity of $50. Basic rentals cost between
$25 and $45 per day. Most rentals include life jackets, paddles
and car-topping gear.
