Llama Trekking
Guide Steve Crone brought the first llamas to Maine and caused
quite a stir when he was spotted walking them down Main
Street in Bar Harbor. He settled in the Bethel area, where he es-
tablished the Telemark Inn and ski touring center. He offers day trips
and multi-day trips in the White Mountains National Forest. This is not
horseback camping. You still have to walk, although the llama totes the
gear. The llama day trek runs about six to seven hours in length and will
set an adult back $85, less for children. The price includes lunch.
