Rangeley

Conflict With the Appalachian Trail
Along the Saddleback Ski Resort's ridge line runs the Appala-
chian Trail. There has been considerable controversy in recent
years over the ski area's desire to expand and concerns that ex-
pansion at upper elevations may adversely impact the trail's wil-
derness character.
