Bridgton

Shawnee, Once Pleasant Mountain
Some folks may be confused by the mountain's name. Shawnee
Peak was called Pleasant Mountain up until 1988, when it was
purchased by an out of state group, the Shawnee Group. Still, the
relatively wild sounding Indian name has been a better draw. If
you ask the locals for directions you may still have to ask for the
old name before getting a response.
