tific equipment, paintings and other memorabilia. The Wilhelm Reich
Museum at Orgonon Estate was Reich's home and workplace. Located in
the Rangeley Lakes Region of Maine and comprising 175 acres of fields
and woodland with a system of trails and two major buildings, the mu-
seum represents and interprets the life and work of this renowned yet
controversial physician-scientist and the environment in which he inves-
tigated the energy functions that govern all living things. Reich's views
on orgone energy, UFOs, sexuality, and his energy concentrators won him
some powerful enemies, including the government.
The Orgone Energy Observatory , designed for Reich in 1948, exhibits
biographical materials, inventions, and equipment used in his pioneer-
ing experiments. Reich's library, personal memorabilia, sculpture, and
