The whale watch vessels Friendship V and Atlantis in Bar Harbor are
handicapped accessible.
In Acadia National Park, a recent grant from the Shelby Cullum Davis
Foundation helped Friends of Acadia bring two high-quality, handi-
capped-accessible horse-drawn carriages to the riding stables there.
Special wheelchair ramps and viewing areas have also been created at
the popular attraction, Thunder Hole along the Ocean Drive.
National Park Tours , which offer narrated bus rides through Acadia
National Park, has a wheelchair-accessible bus.
In Portland, the group Portland Trails , which oversees a 30-mile net-
work of paths and bike trails in and around the city, has made several

Also in Portland, the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Company and
Museum operates a museum dedicated to the history of the state's two-
foot gauge trains. Operating equipment provides train rides daily in sea-
son. Museum entrance and trains are handicapped accessible.
In Jackman, the non-profit group Disabled Outdoor Experiences
have planned a nature center and wheelchair-accessible trails through

At Greenville the restored lake steamer Katahdin , which offers tours of
various durations on Moosehead Lake, is wheelchair accessible.
In Presque Isle, the town's recreation department operates an indoor
pool on Mechanic Street that includes a handicapped lift as well as
handicapped-accessible showers and restroom facilities.
