In-Depth Information
and makes things too messy for good skiing or snowmobiling. Especially

Snow remains on the ground reliably all winter in Mid-Maine, the West-
ern Mountains, and in the zones we've decided to call the Great North
Woods and the Far North. Even when the ground is bare in Bangor, there
can be two feet on the ground in Greenville. Winter comes earliest and
stays longest in Aroostook County's Far North.
Even though many may consider winter the “off ” season, reservations
are recommended, particularly in popular ski areas and snowmobile des-
tinations.
