Sand dunes on the valley fl oor in Death Valley National Park in California.
You can appreciate the scale of these dunes and the mountains in the dis-
tance from the individuals standing on the dunes. Death Valley has excellent
examples of tectonicsm, especially faulting, wind deposition (sand dunes), and
alluvial fans at the base of the mountains. You can probably see similar fea-
tures or other geologic processes at work near where you live.
