Create New Shape Layer
—Creates a new Shape layer each time you draw a
shape.
•
Add to Shape Area
—Lets you add other shapes to the existing shape in a
Shape layer.
•
Subtract from Shape Area
—Lets you delete or subtract from the existing
shape in a Shape layer.
•
Intersect Shapes Areas
—Use this option to show only the shape area where
two shapes on the same layer intersect.
•
Exclude Overlapping Shape Areas
—Removes overlapping shape areas from
new and existing shapes in the same Shape layer.

Click Simplify to merge all shapes on a layer into one shape.

Click and drag to create your shape.
Creating Lines and Arrows
You can also create straight lines or lines with arrows. These shapes have some similar op-
tions and settings as the Rectangle Shape tool and some new options and settings.
