In-Depth Information
Text Tool and Move Tool
When you confirm your text, the Photo Editor switches immediately to the
Move tool in the Toolbox. This is so you can position your text block in
your photo. You might not like this functionality and prefer to have the
Text tool stay active. You can change the default setting in the General
category of the Photo Editor Preferences, which is covered in the online
bonus content for this chapter at www.quepublishing.com/title/
9780789753809 .
Editing Existing Text Messages
After you have text in your photo, you can edit it. You can change, delete,
or add words as well as modify the font or font style used. You can also
reposition or move the text to a new location in the photo with the Move
tool. Click to select the Type tool from the Toolbox and then click in the
text you want to edit. Double-click a word in your message to select it or
triple-click any word to select the entire message. You can also click and
drag to select a few words, partial words, a character, or the entire mes-
sage. With the text highlighted, choose any of the text format options you
want, or press Delete and type in a new message.
Creating Horizontal or Vertical Text
The most common text that people create is horizontal text that flows across your photo.
You can also create vertical text that flows down. You can create a single line of text or
paragraphs.
1. Open a photo from either from Organizer or from your hard disk in the Photo Edit-
or, or open a new document by choosing File, New from the menu bar.
