Use Selections to Help Define the Area for the Healing Brush
If the object you want to erase is close to an edge, or the photo has high-
contrast objects close by, it is a good idea to first select an area just larger
than the edge or high-contrast object. Then, use the Healing Brush tool to
sample a point inside the selection. This helps keep other objects from
bleeding into the area that the Healing Brush is covering.
Using the Clone/Pattern Stamp Tool
The Clone tool is a great tool for erasing an object that you don't want in your photo. It is
also great for duplicating objects in your photo. It works by sampling an area of the photo
and then painting that image sample over existing images in the photo. Based on your brush
size, you can touch up blemishes or add objects to transform the photo into the perfect shot.
1. In the Photo Editor, open a photo and then click the Expert mode.
2. Click the Clone Stamp tool.
3. Click the Clone Stamp tool option.
4. Click the Brush Preset Picker and choose a Brush.
5. Click Sample All Layers to select this and sample all layers in the photo.
