9. The Lock Aspect Ratio is active by default. This constricts the document dimen-
sions based on the aspect ratio of the width, height, and resolution of the image.
Change one dimension and they all adjust based on their aspect ratio to each other.
10. Click in the Width, Height, and Resolutions field and type a number, then click the
Unit menu and choose a unit of measurement.
11. To change the number of pixels in the document, click Resample Image.
12. Select an interpolation method by clicking the pop-up menu and choosing a meth-
od.
Bicubic Smoother (Best for Enlargement) —Use this when you are making an
image larger.
Bicubic Sharper (Best for Reduction) —Use this when you are making an im-
age smaller.
Bicubic (Best for Smooth Gradients) —Use this if you have a gradient in your
photo. This method is slower but more precise for smoother tonal gradations.
This is the default menu option.
Nearest Neighbor (Prevent Hard Edges) —This method is recommended for
illustrations with non-anti-aliased edges. It's the fastest method but less precise.
You can get jagged edges with this method.
Bilinear —Use this method to get medium quality.
