The Expert mode of the Photo Editor works much like Adobe Photoshop CC in its work-
space and its tools, features, and functionality, but with a focus on photo edits, modifica-
tions, enhancements, and transformations. The Expert mode and its many advanced photo
correction tools and techniques are covered in this chapter.
Setting a Custom Workspace
The Expert mode in the Photo Editor lets you work in Photoshop Elements 13 with the
freedom to create, develop, and customize any way you want. You have control over your
workspace in this mode, unlike the Guided and the Quick modes that allow for no custom-
ization of workspace elements. You can float the photos and images in their own windows.
This lets you arrange your photos in your workspace in any order and location that you
want. You can easily return to the default tabbed view too.
1. In the Photo Editor, open two or more photos or other image documents. See
Chapter 1 , Getting Comfortable with the Photoshop Elements 13 Workspace,
Preferences, and Settings , ” for more information on how to access images in Photo
Editor.
2. Click the Expert mode.
3. Click a document tab to quickly switch between open documents.
Use Photos in Photo Bin to Switch Between Documents
You can also double-click a Photo in the Photo Bin to switch documents
in the Viewer or choose a document name from the Window menu.
4. If you have more documents open than can be displayed in the tabbed area of the
Viewer, click the double arrow button and choose from the list.
