In-Depth Information
The Guided mode of the Photo Editor walks you through step-by-step instruction on how
to apply Guided Edits. Photoshop Elements 13 really beefs up the Guided Edits that are
available in this release by including many new Guided Edits. These edits are displayed in
the Guided Edit panel and divided into four categories. All commands and functionality for
performing these Guided Edits are presented in this panel. Guided Edits work hand in hand
with the Viewer and Tool Options bar for getting more control and customization over the
edit. The Guided mode is a great place to start learning the tools and functionality of the
Photo Editor.
Making Guided Edits
The Guided mode lets you enhance, modify, and transform your photos using wizards that
guide you through the process of fixing, enhancing, and modifying your photos. There are
four Guided Edit categories: Touchups, Photo Effects, Camera Effects, and Photo Play.
Each Guided Edit category contains multiple types of Guided Edits. Each Guided Edit
works basically the same as far as how you use the tools and options to apply that edit. Start
at the top of the panel and work your way down through the step-by-step wizard instruc-
tion. You can reset the photo at any time, as well as apply the Guided Edit multiple times
to a photo. Work through the step-by-step instructions for each effect.
Following is an overview on how to access the various Guided Edits in each category.
1. In the Photo Editor, open a photo. See Chapter 1 , Getting Comfortable with the
Photoshop Elements 13 Workspace, Preferences, and Settings , ” for more informa-
tion on the Photo Editor.
