To manually refine a selection that extends out too far from the object's edge, posi-
tion your cursor outside the selection. The inner circle displays a minus sign, indic-
ating that it will push to tighten the overdefined selection to the object's edge.

Adjust your brush size so that the outer circle is about the distance of the selection
boundary from the object's edge.
