8. To subtract an area from an existing selection, click the Subtract from Selection
option.
9. Click and drag through an area of the photo that is already selected to subtract that
area from the selection area.
10. Click the Size slider and drag left or right to decrease or increase the size of the
brush tip for the Quick Selection tool. You can also click in the size field and type
a set size.
11. Click the Brush Settings button to adjust the brush settings.
12. This displays the Brush Settings window. Click the Hardness slider to adjust the
hardness of the selection tool. You can also click the Hardness field and type a set
percentage. Hardness is basically how tight the selection is to the edge of an area
based on the color tones in the image. The larger the number the sharper the edge.
13. Click and drag the Spacing slider left or right to decrease or increase the amount of
spacing between similar colors the selection tool recognizes for the selection.
14. Click and drag the Roundness slider left or right to decrease or increase how round
the brush tip is of the Quick Selection tool. You'll see the Angle diagram adjust to
display the changes you make to the tool.
15. Click the triangle in the Angle diagram and drag it up, down, left and right to re-
position the angle of the brush tip.
16. Click the Size menu to set whether you are using a drawing tablet, a stylus pen
with a thumb wheel, or a mouse. Choose one of the following three menu options:
