Importing Video
Although this topic is about using Photoshop Elements, you can also im-
port video into Elements Organizer. Using any of the techniques covered
so far, import your video to the Organizer Catalog. Video files need to be
in the correct file format, such as .mov or .mp4.
Importing Photos That Are Already in the Catalog
During an import, Organizer checks to make sure the file you are import-
ing is unique to the Catalog. If it is not, a message displays listing the du-
plicate file(s), and Organizer does not import the file(s). Click OK to close
the message window. You can set how the Organizer handles duplicate
files in the Files Preferences, which is covered in the online bonus con-
tent.
Opening Photos in Elements Editor
In a roundabout way, you can import images into the Organizer through Elements Editor,
also referred to as the Photo Editor. When you open an image in the Photo Editor, it's auto-
matically added to the Organizer Catalog.
1. Open Elements Editor by launching Photoshop Elements 13 and clicking the Photo
Editor button, or if you have the Elements Organizer open, click the Organizer but-
ton in the taskbar. (See Chapter 1 for how to open the Photo Editor).
2. In the Elements Editor, click to choose File, Open from the menu bar.
