Click the Rename Files menu and choose the filename convention. If you want to
create a custom file naming convention, click Custom from the list and type the fi-
lename to be used for imported photos. The default is to not rename the photos and
to use the original filenames from the mobile device.

Click the Preserve Current Filename in XMP option to preserve any metadata at-
tached to the media being imported.
What Is XMP?
Adobe's Extensible Metadata Platform or XMP is technology that labels
files through metadata that is embedded into the file itself. Metadata can
be any type of information that you want to attach to a file. You have the
option to preserve this information when you import files by checking the
Preserve Current Filename in XMP option.

(Mac Only) Click the Delete Options menu to choose how you want to handle de-
leting the original photos from the mobile device. The default is to not delete ori-
ginal files.

Click the Advanced Dialog button to access the advanced settings for importing
your photos.

Click the Cancel button to cancel the import.

Click the Get Media button to import the digital media based on the settings and
options you have selected.
