Most of the online developer hangouts already mentioned include career guidance, and many have
job boards where employers can post job openings. Even if you aren't yet ready to search for a job,
keeping an eye on job descriptions can help guide your learning.

independent video game studios, from the AAA giants like EA Games on down to local startups.

The Asset Store is a great sources of scripts, and is also a venue where you can share your own
scripting solutions. If you feel you've written a particularly handy script that may have broader
application, you can consider submitting it to the Asset Store. This also serves the same purpose as
publishing a game for your portfolio—an original, published product.
