In GIMP, the channels are accessed in the Channels Palette . The tab to access the palette is right
next to the Layers Palette tab (Figure 4-5 ). In some types of restoration work, it will be necessary to make
adjustments to a specific color channel. The last tutorial in this chapter involves making an edit to a specific
channel in a fairly complex color-correction exercise. Later in this topic, we'll also look at how some
restorations can be done by merely keeping one channel and discarding the others.
