Deactivate the Quick Mask mode (Shift + Q) to switch back to the
“marching ant” selection. We'll now copy the selected subject to its own
layer (Control + C and Control + V). Change the floating selection to a layer
(Shift + Control + N). Rename the layer Isolated Girl.

Hide the Background layer by clicking the Eyeball icon (Figure
8-22
). If there
are any residual pixels left to remove, add a layer mask to the Isolated Girl layer
(Right-click + Add Layer Mask). Leave the layer mask at the default settings.
