2. Right-click the Black and White Layer and add a layer mask from the drop-down

menu (Figure 5-14 ).

3. Choose a soft brush with black as the active color and paint on the flowers, the

girl's hair bow, etc., to reveal color from the layer beneath (Figure 5-15 ). You can
do more than what is shown, if you'd like to play around. If you don't like your
results, switch to white and add the gray back to the areas where you don't want
any color (Figure 5-15 ).
