Sharing photos from an iOS device is easier than ever, thanks to the Sharing pop-over.
Set Up Photo Stream
When you first set up your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad or added an iCloud account to any of
these devices, you were probably asked if you wanted to set up Photo Stream as well. It doesn't really
matter if you did; it's simple enough to check whether it's up and running: Head to your device's Set-
tings app and tap the iCloud label. A list of iCloud features in the iCloud pane, showing which are en-
abled. It also shows the name of the iCloud account you are using on the device. If you see none of
that, iCloud isn't set up on your device, so you'll need to head back to Chapter 1 and follow the in-
structions there to add or create an iCloud account.
If iCloud is running on your device, scroll to the Photo Stream section in the Settings app's
iCloud pane, shown in Figure 5-2, and make sure that Photo Stream is switched on. While you're at
it, you may as well turn on Shared Photo Streams too unless you're sure you never want to use the
feature (I explain it later in this chapter). Now is also a good time to make sure that you have the
same iCloud account running on all the devices you want to share photos among, be they computers,
iPhones, iPads, or iPod Touches.
