Rather than selecting one letter at a time with the Apple TV remote to do a search, such as for a
movie title, you can use the Remote app and type searches using the iOS device's onscreen keyboard.
You can also the iOS onscreen keyboard to enter e-mail addresses and passwords, such as when sign-
ing in to Home Sharing or your iTunes account, using the Remote app:
1. Navigate to the search interface on your Apple TV, such as the iTunes Movies search.
2. Drag your finger across the Remote app's screen until the search field is highlighted. The
onscreen keyboard will appear on the iOS device. iPhones and iPod Touches also vibrate at
this point.
3. Type your search words using the iOS onscreen keyboard (see Figure 4-7). Your search res-
ults will appear on your TV's screen.
4. Tap the Hide button to close the iOS onscreen keyboard.
