Stream audio from a computer to AirPlay devices via Airfoil
So, we've established that you can stream audio from your computer using iTunes, even to mul-
tiple AirPlay devices, and Mac OS X Mountain Lion users can stream system audio to a single AirPlay
speaker. But what about Windows PC users and Mac users who don't have or can't run OS X Moun-
tain Lion?
The answer is to use the $25 Airfoil software from Rogue Amoeba (shown in Figure 3-8). This
simple app, available for both Macs and PCs, allows users to stream audio from any app on your
computer (or all your system audio) to compatible devices, including AirPlay speakers. There's a free
trial version you can use to see if you like Airfoil as much as I do.
