In-Depth Information
As Figure 3-3 shows, when viewing a Home Sharing library, Remote's interface looks much like
iTunes on a computer and allows you to search for music and movies without being at your Mac or
PC. You can even create Genius playlists in the Remote app that are then stored in iTunes on your
computer. The app works with all iOS devices connected to your network, which means you can use it
on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. You can even use it across devices, because Remote stays in
sync with other devices running Remote on the same Home Sharing account, so you can begin play-
ing music on your iPhone and make changes in another room using your iPad.

When it comes to using the Remote app, it couldn't be simpler. Just make sure your device is
connected to the same network as your computer and AirPlay speakers and that iTunes is running on
the computer on which the iTunes library you are using is stored. From there you are free to pick
your songs, pick a speaker (see Figure 3-4), and then play songs, albums, or playlists to stream audio
to your heart's content.
