at their upper right, in black because it's not turned on).
Use the Remote app to control streaming music
Apple's free Remote app for iOS devices is arguably one of the most important tools for AirPlay
users. Not only does it provide a way to control streaming to all your AirPlay devices, it allows you to
stream to multiple speakers at once, accessing media from iTunes on your computer or controlling an
Apple TV.
To use the Remote app, you first need to add your iTunes library to it by enabling Home Sharing
in iTunes, at which point the library will appear in the Remote app. You can then select any content
stored in your iTunes library and stream it to any of your AirPlay devices. On your computer's
iTunes, choose File > Home Sharing > Turn on Home Sharing, then enter the username and pass-
word for the computer whose iTunes you want to be the master library for AirPlay — create an ac-
count via that menu option on your current computer if it will be the AirPlay master. On an iOS
device, sign in to Home Sharing in the Settings app's Music or Videos pane — it doesn't matter which.
Download and install the Remote app from the App Store. It's free! Then launch the Remote app
and select the desired iTunes library from the list. (You may see only one library listed if you are only
using one computer with Home Sharing.)
