Where Is the AirPlay Button?
Once all your devices are connected to your network, the speakers and Apple TV units (as well as
any AirPort Express base stations you may be using) will appear on the list of available AirPlay
devices when you tap or click the AirPlay button ( ) on an iOS device or a Mac.
So where is that AirPlay button? It resides in apps like iTunes on a computer and in a variety of
apps on iOS devices, such as Podcasts, Videos, Phone, Music, Public Radio, and YouTube. (In these
apps, it also lets you access any paired Bluetooth devices for audio streaming, such as a car stereo or
headset.)
You can also access the AirPlay button from the multitasking dock in iOS: Double-press the
Home button to reveal this dock at the bottom of the screen, then scroll to the left to see the AirPlay
icon. If your device supports AirPlay mirroring, you'll see the Mirroring switch after you tap the
AirPlay button. On a Mac that supports AirPlay mirroring, you should see the AirPlay icon in the
menu bar at the top of the screen.
