tions tab appears if the video has the option to display captioned dialog; select it to open the Closed
Captions screen. The Speakers screen, also available through a tab at the very top, lets you switch the
audio to other AirPlay devices without going into the Settings screen.
When watching movies on Netflix or other streaming services, pressing and holding the center
button may also open a screen with options, such as enabling subtitles or changing the active AirPlay
speakers, as Figure 10-5 shows. Test the services you use to see what additional controls they provide
using this technique.
TIP: If you decide not to change chapters or other options, press and hold the center button for
a second or two to resume the movie where you left off.

Get More While Listening to Music and Podcasts
That press-and-hold trick also works for music and podcasts. For music, you get a dialog box
(shown in Figure 10-5) with options such as to browse the album, browse the artist, open the Genius
feature to find music similar to the current song, see what song will play next (in your shuffle, album,
or playlist) and change the AirPlay speakers in use. If you press and hold the center button on a song
in a playlist, album list, or other list, you get a dialog box with options to play the song now, play it
next, open the Genius feature, show what will play next, add the song to the Up Next list, or browse
the artist.
For podcasts, you just get the option to change the AirPlay speakers in use when pressing and
holding the center button while a podcast is playing. But when you're viewing a list of podcast epis-
odes, pressing and holding the center button opens a dialog box where you can mark the episode as
played or unplayed. Similar options are available in episode lists of TV shows.
