TIP: If your device doesn't appear in iTunes when you want to restore it, you may need to put it
in recovery mode or Device Firmware Update (DFU) mode. After ensuring that the iOS device is con-
nected to your computer via a USB cable and iTunes is running, hold the Sleep/Wake button and
Home button on the device at the same time. When the screen goes blank, release the Sleep/Wake
button while continuing to hold the Home button until iTunes recognizes the device.
Buy more iCloud storage
If you are running low on iCloud storage, you can increase your storage plan by buying a larger
amount of storage using iCloud Control Panel on a Windows PC and the iCloud section of System
Preferences on a Mac. To increase your storage allowance on an iOS device, follow these steps:
1. Launch the Settings app.
2. Tap iCloud.
3. Tap Storage & Backup.
4. Tap Change Storage Plan.
5. Tap the amount of storage you would like to buy.
6. Tap the Buy button (see Figure 8-5).
