If you want to add an existing account, enter your iCloud account e-mail address and pass-
word, then tap the Sign In button.
On a Mac
Setting up an iCloud account on a Mac requires OS X 10.7.4 Lion or later and is done in the Sys-
tem Preferences application.
1. Choose Apple > System Preferences or click the System Preferences icon in your Dock to
open the System Preferences application.
2. Click iCloud in the System Preferences app window to open the iCloud system preference.
3. If you have an iCloud account already, enter your e-mail address and password in the
provided fields, then click the Sign In button. If not, click the Create an Apple ID link at the
bottom of the pane.
4. Enter your location and birthday details using the pop-up menus, then click the Next but-
ton.
5. To use an existing e-mail address, select the Use an Existing Email Address radio button. To
create a free iCloud e-mail address, select the Get a Free iCloud Email Address radio button.
Now enter the e-mail address you want to use as well as your name, password, and Secret
Question details. Click the Next button.
6. Accept the iCloud terms and conditions by checking the box at the bottom of the pane. Then
click the Continue button.
7. Check the boxes next to the services you want to use with iCloud (shown in Figure 1-7), then
click the Next button.
