Journals in the iPhoto app
If you want to create a website solely for sharing photos, put down the web design software and
take a look at Photo Journals. It's brilliant! Not only do you get to drag and drop your pictures (see
Figure 5-12), resize them, and share them with the world, you can add little widgets to the gallery as
well. The widgets include calendar icons, text, quotes, maps (using information stored in the photos
to pinpoint a location), and temperatures data, all laid out in a slick interface that anyone with a
modern web browser can view. Clicking a photo in a Photo Journal expands it to a larger view from
which viewers can then trigger a slideshow of the photos if they want.
And if you don't want to sit around plotting the perfect arrangement for your images, you can let
iPhoto flow them into the Photo Journal automatically, so all you have to do is tap the Share button (
) or publish the journal to iCloud.
