Sharing a Photo Stream with others
Create a Shared Photo Stream in iPhoto or Aperture
Mac users can quickly create a Shared Photo Stream using iPhoto or Aperture, Apple's two photo
apps. They can select any photos in their library, even those not stored in their Photo Stream. There
are several ways to share photos via Photo Stream in iPhoto and Aperture, including dragging and
dropping a selection of images or creating a brand-new Shared Photo Stream from a selection of im-
ages.
1. Launch iPhoto or Aperture on your Mac and select the photos in your library that you want
to add to your Shared Photo Stream, as Figure 5-8 shows.
2. Click the Share button ( ) at the bottom right of the window and click Photo Stream
from the pop-over that appears.
3. Click New Photo Stream in the pop-over.
4. Enter the names or e-mail addresses of the people you want to share your Shared Photo
Stream with in the To field of the pane that appears; if you type people's names, iPhoto ac-
cesses your contacts to find their e-mail addresses.
5. Type a name for your Shared Photo Stream in the Name field.
6. Check the Public Website option if you want people to be able to view your Shared Photo
Stream with a web browser (whether or not given an invitation). Otherwise, only those
