performed by the EP using a transformation between random and fuzzy variables. These
transformations are applicable for subtraction and division, only if the operations on
random variables are modified (as given by Equations (4.68) and (4.69)). An implication
of the results of the transformations applied to the uniform flow formula is that it
provides an alternative method for the evaluation of the Extension Principle for a
monotonic function without using the ! -cut method. It appears that the direct implication
of this finding is very limited. However, it is believed that these findings are important
for further research in probability-possibility transformations and hybrid techniques of
uncertainty modelling.
It should be noticed that the transformation proposed here is solely based on the
characteristics of the operations on random and fuzzy variables, and it guarantees neither
the probability/possibility consistency (Zadah, 1978) nor the uncertainty measures (Klir,
1992).
